Lunenburg, NS is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Canada’s east coast and was once a prominent fishing village. Lunenburg has a clear typology and addressing that in this residential project was key to a successful intervention. As a group we devised a master plan for a single street of Lunenburg and then populated it with infill housing.

For my infill project I took precedent from Glenn Murcutt’s Marie Short House as well as the fishing shacks of both Lunenburg and Blue Rocks, a small fishing village close to Lunenburg, I aimed to capture the old spirit of Lunenburg, the fishing village rather than Lunenburg, the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
